Organization in progress
2012-01-19 01:10

Linköping is going to be part of Global Game Jam for the first time. We've already got space for the event. It's in Vallfarten building in Campus Valla, right next to a bus stop with the same name.
Participants should bring their own machines, because no computers will be provided.
There is a piano in Vallfarten, though. If someone who can actually play it shows up, we'll have some great sounds for games.
There still are some arrangements to take care of. The event starts on Friday afternoon, and ends on Sunday. The exact times and schedule will be announced later. Registration already works.

Achievements (diversifiers)
2012-01-23 08:40

Achievements (or diversifiers) are certain restrictions for your GameJam game. They're completely optional, just to add more fun and challenge. Read more about them, and see the list for this year here.
By the way, we have our local event page at facebook.

Are you ready?
2012-01-27 01:59

GameJam starts today! We have an updated schedule, with a number of speakers, including Martin Magnusson from Bold AI, Björn Falke from Wemotion, and Ingemar Ragnemalm. Also, special thanks to InnovationskontorEtt.

We'll bring extension cords, microwave, and some snacks. And you take care of your working equipment.

A few preparations recommended before GameJam:
* think what tools you need: prepare your computer, tablet, sound equipment - whatever you'll be using.
* in case you're not familiar with version systems, get familiar with one, e.g. Mercurial, Git or SVN - they're very useful.

See you in Vallfarten at 16:00!
